Rest In Peace, Stella

It is with the utmost sadness that we have received news of the passing of Stella Shumba, a CLUBHOUSE Scholar who became part of our family in 2014. She was now in lower 6 at Nyamauru High School.

Below is a reflection from a fellow CLUBHOUSE Scholar.

“We started learning together in grade 5 at Rujeko Primary School.
Stella was a quiet student in class but was very brave, she used to face health challenges and would sometimes fall unconscious but as soon as she felt better she was back on her desk.
We learnt a lot of things from her, despite facing different challenges, Stella never gave up but she fought and worked hard. She has left us a legacy of hardwork and perseverence.
She was now doing form 5 student at Nyamauru High School.
When we heard news of her death we couldn’t bear it but we take comfort in the fact that she is resting now, in a better place where there is no pain. When myself and a few other CLUBHOUSE members visited her place to pass our condolences, the funeral procession had already left for the village but the relatives who were there told us that in her last days she was in great pain. She rests with the angels now.

Rest in peace Stella, we will forever cherish the moments we had with you.”
